What are the eligibility criteria to register for ASPEKT Academy?
While there are no specific criteria for registration, please note that this course is designed primarily for dysphagia researchers rather than clinicians.
Do I need the Credentialed Rater Training?
The Credentialed Rater Training is optional but must be completed, in addition to ASPEKT Academy, if you intend to use the ASPEKT Method to rate videos. In order to use the term “Credentialed ASPEKT Rater”, attendees must achieve pre-specified accuracy criteria.
Do I need to register for both ASPEKT Academy and Credentialed Rater Training courses at the same time?
No, you can register for one or both. You may choose to register for the Credentialed Rater Training at a later time.
What languages are the courses offered in?

When will the next ASPEKT Academy take place?
New sessions will be added throughout the year. Check back regularly for updates!
Will there be an ASPEKT-C Academy?
Web-based training in the ASPEKT-C Method (ASPEKT for Clinical Practice) is currently in development. Professor Steele offers some in-person courses in the ASPEKT-C Method on a per-request basis, pending her availability. Inquiries can be sent below or directly to tri-swallowinglab@uhn.ca.
